 yeah it is. if you divide the numerator by the denominator itll get you the decimal form. 5/8 is .63, but 5/10 is only .50. Therefore, 5/8 is larger

5/10=½
and half of 8 is 4
so ⅝ is a little more than half 
So yes ⅝ is greater than 5/10
