5t - 3 = 2 + 3t

Subtract 3t from both sides.

5t - 3t - 3 = 2 + 3t - 3t

2t - 3 = 2

Add 3 to both sides.

2t - 3 + 3 = 2 + 3

2t = 5

Divide both sides by 2.

2t/2 = 5/2

t = 5/2 = 2.5
